So I went to the Half Hour Understudy concert last night just because Chris told us that he was in it. I am so glad that I did. I hadn’t seen him since he graciously let me interview him for my vlog. So I was glad to get to see him in action again. Afterwards I got the chance to talk with him and Clay Thomson for like 30 minutes. We obsessed about movies and they again teased me about how I didn’t think it was that cold and they were freezing their asses off. I told Clay about my gift idea for Chris’ birthday and he said He’ll LOVE IT! I am so excited about it now.
I honestly don’t even know what to say right now. This is one of our favorite songs ever, and definitely one of the only songs that causes us to feel deep emotion. Chris Rice was the reason we wanted to go to the concert in the first place, and we literally couldn’t have picked a better song for him to sing. We had to wait for everyone else to sing (he was LAST) to find out if the audience voted for Role of a Lifetime, and when we found out that he was going to sing it, we almost fell apart in our chairs. It was better than we ever could’ve imagined and the fact that his hands were shaking and his eyes were tearing up only showed us how much the song meant to him too… It was an incredibly emotional experience and he told us afterwards that it was all a blur and that he couldn’t remember what happened on the stage because he got too into it… It was probably the most beautiful and special moment we have ever witnessed! We are tearing up right now as we are writing this! Please enjoy, reblog, and reply with your thoughts!
